SQL Server
Any database you can sign in to, on-premises or on a network server. Checks keys, relationships, masking, encryption and permissions.
Rockland Scanner reads your SQL Server databases, Access databases and Excel workbooks, scores them from 0 to 100, and tells you in plain language what to fix before Copilot, AI agents or analytics ever touch them.
Launching soon. 14-day free trial, no credit card. $399 one-time. Runs on Windows 10 and 11.
Point Copilot at a database full of duplicate customers, cryptic column names like fld7, and unmasked Social Security numbers, and you'll get confident wrong answers, or worse, an AI that happily repeats personal data to anyone who asks. Most organizations don't know which of their data is ready. Finding out has meant weeks of consultant time.
Rockland Scanner does that first assessment in minutes, using the same checks an experienced data consultant would run by hand.
Pick a SQL Server database, an Access file or an Excel workbook. Sign in with your Windows account or a SQL login.
The scanner reads each table's structure and a sample of rows, then runs 23 checks. A typical database takes under a minute.
Work through findings ranked by severity, each with a plain-language fix. Rescan to show the score going up, and share the report as a PDF.
Each area gets its own score, and together they make the overall rating from Not ready to AI-ready.
#N/A.fld1 or Sheet2, which confuse people and AI alike._old, backup and test copies left lying around.Any database you can sign in to, on-premises or on a network server. Checks keys, relationships, masking, encryption and permissions.
.accdb and .mdb files, including the back end of split databases. Ideal for the Access applications that have run the business for years.
.xlsx and .xlsm workbooks, reading Excel Tables and plain sheets alike. Catches merged cells, stacked tables and hidden sheets.
Masking a Social Security number hides it on screen, but anyone who can query the table can still work it out. Rockland Scanner grades every sensitive SQL Server column by how well it's actually protected, names every account that can see through the mask, and checks whether database files and backups are encrypted.
It's the report your security team would write, in the language your managers can read.
Every scan produces a clean report: the score and rating, each area's result, every finding with what to do about it, and a data protection summary. Print it, save it as a PDF, or copy a short summary into an email. Every scan is kept in History, so before-and-after comparisons are one click away.

Nothing stops working. You keep using the version you have, for as long as you like. Renew for $149 a year whenever you want the newer versions. There's no subscription and nothing renews automatically.

Read access to the tables you want checked. For the full data protection picture on SQL Server, the account also needs VIEW DEFINITION. The scanner never needs write access.
It reads a sample of rows per table (1,000 by default) and uses a read mode that doesn't lock tables, so other users aren't blocked.
Yes for .mdb. For .xls, open the workbook in Excel and save a copy as .xlsx first.
