Privacy Policy
Last updated October 5, 2026
In short: Rockland Scanner never sends us the data you scan. To manage licenses we collect your license key, your computer's name and an anonymous computer ID, plus the email you give us for a trial or purchase. We don't sell personal information.
This policy explains what personal information Rockland Analytics LLC ("we", "us") collects through our website, the Rockland Scanner software and its licensing, how we use it, and your choices.
1. The data you scan
Rockland Scanner runs on your computer and connects only to the databases and files you choose. The data you scan, and the reports the software produces, stay on your computer. We never receive them.
2. What we collect
- Trial requests: the email address you enter, whether you agreed to receive product news, your computer's name and an anonymous computer ID.
- License activation and checks: your license key, your computer's name, an anonymous computer ID and the operating system (Windows). The computer ID is a one-way hash of an identifier Windows creates; it can't be turned back into the original and isn't shared with other products.
- Purchases: Paddle, our reseller, collects your name, email, billing address and payment details. We receive your name, email, country and order details from Paddle. We never see your full card number.
- Support emails: whatever you choose to send us.
- Technical data: when the software contacts our licensing service, your IP address is used briefly to prevent abuse (for example, to limit repeated trial requests) and is not stored with your license.
3. How we use it
- To issue, activate, check and transfer licenses, and to stop misuse of trials and keys.
- To deliver your purchase, process refunds and provide support.
- To email you about important changes to the product or your license.
- To send product news, only if you agreed to it. Every such email has an unsubscribe link.
4. Who processes it for us
- Keygen (keygen.sh) stores license records and activations.
- Microsoft Azure hosts our licensing service.
- Paddle (paddle.com) processes payments as Merchant of Record and handles taxes, invoices and refunds under its own privacy policy.
- Our email provider, to send and receive email.
These providers may store data in the United States and other countries. They process it only to provide their services to us. We don't sell or rent personal information, and we don't share it for advertising.
5. How long we keep it
We keep license and purchase records for as long as your license exists and as required for tax and accounting (usually 7 years). Trial records are kept so each computer can use one trial. You can ask us to delete your information at any time; some records may need to be kept for legal reasons.
6. Your choices and rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal information, or to stop product emails, by writing to support@rockland-analytics.com. Depending on where you live (for example, the European Economic Area, the UK or California), you may have further rights, including to object to processing or to complain to a data protection authority. We'll respond within 30 days.
7. Security
License files are cryptographically signed, connections are encrypted, and access to license records is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
8. Children
Rockland Scanner is a business product and isn't directed at children under 16. We don't knowingly collect their information.
9. Changes
We'll post any changes to this policy on this page and update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll tell customers by email.
