Operations data was scattered across four separate systems — MES for production, QMS for quality, ERP for shipping, and HRIS for staffing. Leadership relied on outdated weekly reports, so problems were often discovered days after they occurred, delaying corrective action.

Step 1 — Real-Time Data Integration

Built Azure Data Factory pipelines to pull data from all four systems every 15 minutes and load it into a central SQL Server operational data store with a unified KPI model.

Step 2 — Executive KPI Scorecard

Designed a clean Power BI scorecard using traffic-light indicators for key metrics (OEE, First-Pass Yield, On-Time Shipment, Headcount vs Plan) with full drill-through capability.

Step 3 — AI Anomaly Detection

Enabled Power BI’s built-in Anomaly Detection visual on all time-series KPIs. The system automatically flags statistically significant deviations and surfaces likely root causes.

Step 4 — Copilot & Smart Narratives

Configured Smart Narratives and Copilot in Power BI to generate plain-English explanations of every metric’s status, trend, and comparison to prior periods — updating live with each refresh.

Step 5 — Automated Daily Briefing

Power Automate sends a Copilot-generated operations briefing to leadership via Microsoft Teams every morning at 7am, highlighting overnight performance and any detected anomalies.

Result: Leadership now starts every day informed and proactive instead of reacting to last week’s numbers.
